Granite Basin is finally open and somewhat free of snow and mud. I had just a super ride there today.

Lots of climbing and I felt strong despite the nearly 36 lb bike. The new wheelset is not a lot lighter, but certainly feels more snappy with no noticeable flex compared to the Gordos. I was moving up the smooth climbs, and cleaning everything technical without difficulty. This always seems to happen when I ride a lot of singlespeed and then get on the big travel geared bike. Nothing seems like much of a challenge with low gears and loads of travel.

Perfect bike, perfect day, perfect ride. All I could do at the end was praise my Maker for the health and opportunity to ride. Very refreshing.
