Various

I woke up to this, and couldn't turn it off.

Well worth the listen, but heartbreaking in its story of human frailty, and divine comfort.

Brooks update:

I rode to work every day this week, and spent at least 5 hours on it commuting. In some way, I dislike it. It has a sweet spot for sure, but move 5mm either way, and you are out of that sweet spot. I was ready to can it after my long ride on wednesday. The thing is just too finicky to position, and either feels too far forward, or back. I tilted it down slightly and it it working for me.

On the other hand I rode every day, including a big day on wednesday, with no chamois, and don't have the slightest hint of a saddle sore. I usually would with my typical saddle have a slight skin irritation that would go away in a day or so off the bike. Not even a hint of trouble in the nether regions. I think I will keep trialing it. So far the verdict is finicky but worth it.

Fluid 135 update as requested:

Hard to say more. You need to understand, I ride three bikes regularly, and the FS bike gets the least of my love. Despite loving suspension, big tires, single speed, mountain biking and disliking drops; I actually spend most of my time on a full rigid, non-blingy geary with small tires and drops riding the road.

That being said, with two more rides on the Fluid 135, one of which involving a long shoppy descent, I have found it to be invisible. That is, it doesn't annoy me, does what it is supposed to, and allows me to obsess about other things on the bike. I have not had any loss of pressure from the air side, and it seems to be getting more supple. I still have less than 20 hours on the fork.

I listened to that as well this morning, Eric. Just heartwrenching to listen to a father talk about the loss of his young son. How amazing to listen to how they dealt with their loss.

I continue to lift up Josh, Sadie and the girls in my prayers.
