....almost. Single millisecond dab when I went off trail into a bush for no reason at all. I am loving 37 right now for some reason.
I was on a time budget today and needed to haul. Left the car, 10 minutes of road, 17 minutes up to the first apex of 37 I really felt good, and had little trouble with the tech obstacles. Today I was riding the Rig, which is geared 1 tooth higher than the Zion, so maybe the extra speed helped. The only difference I noticed is that the Ignitor does not have the grip of the WW in the back. This bike is easily several pounds lighter than the Zion.
By the time I hit 40, I was a couple minutes ahead of schedule, so I zoomed up and back from the second peak on 37, cleaning it again. The descent down 40 was fun. Ice is clearing almost completely. I stalled on the difficult drop in to the creek crossing and had to try it again. One area I find the rigid struggles is in the moves that require speed like this one.
At the bottom, took the time to lower the bars 10mm (ahh nice), then climbed up 349, easily completing the triple challenge. Hit the rode, and went down and back a little on the whoop-de doos, back to road, up to the connector to Iron springs, down, up and out. 1h 23 minutes if you don't count the side trips or stops, 1:32 total. A very nice, intense workout.
Lordy I felt strong today. I need to stay up with the SS riding and save the gears for special occasions.
No other comments but that I love biking. I just feel like such a kid.
I'm off for a few days for some long anticipated R&R with the missus. Go Ride!
Random thoughts.
