The crux of the matter is who is responsible for the upbringing/training of children in our society: Parents or the State? Who is ultimately responsible for their well being?
I know my answer. The fact that there are irresponsible parents does not give the State the right to make blanket rulings. Many folks (me included) would go to jail on this issue. California has greatly overstepped its bounds.

Thanks for posting this. As a 7 year veteran of homeschooling, this is very disturbing. I'm fortunate that HSLDA is a passionate organization and hope that their legal battles will be successful. Well worth the membership dues each year.
