Equinox ride

Gorgeous day for an equinox ride at granite basin.

First up the climb from the car. Car is at the pale yellow area in center top of photo.

I am climbing to the ridge just below the peak you see. The ride will eventually go all the way around the visible peak.

From beyond the peak, you get a great view of Granite Mountain and Granite Basin. The basin essentially circles around between where I am and the base of the mountain in the photo.

Today's ride will take me around outside the basin, then drop into the basin down one of the valleys to the far left of the mountain.

Taking a rest at the bottom of another creek bed. Trail is the rock at the Right of photo

Climb up to Iron Springs, spin the road for 10 minutes, then hit the most difficult climb up 37. Starts like this.

Sun at my back, I get to see this in front of me for 20 minutes.

Waterbar after waterbar up, up, up. Cleaned it this time (again #3 woo hoo)

Pano from about 1/2 way up. Prescott is in the distance on the R is a small peak named "thumb butte"

I'll leave with that since I ran out of memory in the camera, and the rest is mainly descending and I have stopping.
