E on the Mcleod.
J mostly doing nothing, trying not to hurt himself with a pick. (Moms don't like this sort of thing)
Ever since we built it, E has been bugging me to go back and ride it. So......
It has been too long since E and I have ridden singletrack together. He is hyper and he has grown. The combination means he is pretty dang strong for a 10 yo who does not ride that often.
Bad dad.
He is comfortable on the bike, but needs time on the trail to work on braking and descending skills.
After the new trail, we went across to 396 and rode from the White Spar campground to the reflecting pool.
We mostly rode, but there was some of this:
He is pushing 32 X 20 on 26" wheels and pretty heavy tires. Figure the bike is 1/2 his weight. He needs a lower gear and I am bumping him to 32 X 22 this week.
All in all, we rode 1.5 hours without much in the way of breaks. He basically didn't notice it at all the rest of the day and seemed not tired in the least.
I must work him harder....
This must happen a lot more. I think my rides are going to get shorter on the weekends.
At what age should I go to SPDs is the question I have right now?
